Bead a Scissors Fob

Keep them from other uses

by Paula S. Morgan
for About.com

Make a little fob (aka ID tag) using Peyote or Brick stitch or even with a beads on memory wire to identify your scissors or other beading tools.

You can make your fob in just about any design, an initial, a symbol, a color or selection of colors, anything as long as it will stand out and you (and others) will be able to identify it as your own. Attach your beaded fob to your beading scissors with a loop of beads or with a metal split ring.

Even if you do not travel much to bead gatherings, it is a good idea to make identifiers for special tools. Doing so may help cut down (pun intended) on misuse of your "good" beading scissors and keep them from being used (by you or by others) on projects that may dull or even nick the blades. There's nothing worse than dull scissors unless it's missing scissors!
