Guide Review - Beading Reference Chart Poster and Brochure
The first thing that I noticed when I took it out of the mailing sleeve was that it had been shipped flat. This made it perfect right out of the envelope and ready to hang right away.
The second thing that I noticed was that it is extremely well constructed. It is laminated, so it wipes clean easily (like if you accidentally spill glue on it as I did before I could hang it up) and it feels as though it has been printed on a nice, heavy card stock.
Because it is so hard to judge bead sizes in a catalog, the size chart is my favorite feature of this reference chart. It shows sizes in both round and oval shapes, ranging from 2mm to 40mm round and 6x4mm to 40x30mm oval. It also has a nice little reference chart with bugle bead sizes; a chart for seed bead sizes; and a wire gauge chart.
On the bottom of the chart are a couple of formulas that any beader will find helpful - one to figure out the cost per bead and the other to figure out the number of beads needed for a given length.
The brochure included also includes helpful information on choosing a stringing method and material; needles; tips for stringing on wire; and a list and definitions of gemstone treatments.
