What is it?
Nymo is a nylon beading thread that was originally used in the upholstery industry.

Nymo is used for off-loom beadweaving and bead embroidery.

What do the different sizes mean?
Nymo comes in several different sizes, ranging from “OO” (thinnest) to “G” (thickest). The most commonly available sizes of Nymo are OO, O, B and D.

How many colors does it come in?
Nymo comes in dozens of different colors. You can purchase assortments of related color families from some suppliers.

How is it sold?
Nymo is either sold by the bobbin containing approximately 64 yards or by the spool/cone containing approximately 1,500 yards. It should be noted that the size “D” Nymo that comes on a spool is somewhat thicker and heavier than the size “D” that comes on a spool.

Best uses for Nymo
Nymo is best used for off-loom beadweaving and bead embroidery. It should be conditioned with either beeswax or Thread Heaven before using. If it is not conditioned and stretched before use, it has a tendency to stretch and distort the shape of the finished beadwork.
