I was immediately impressed with the finished sample that Nikia Angel, the owner of Buy the Kit, had on display. It was soft and supple and the colors of denim blue with bronze and pearl accents appealed to the part of me that loves hanging out in my most comfortable pair of jeans.
The kit contained literally everything I needed to complete the project, including:
- Seed beads in 4 colors
- Metal findings including bead caps, daisy spacers and a wonderful, delicate toggle clasp
- Firepolished beads
- Freshwater pearls
- Ear wires
- Chandelier earring findings
- Headpins
- A bobbin of thread in a color that matched the seed beads
- A size 10 beading needle
- A one-inch wooden dowel for working the tubular peyote and netting
The directions were printed on heavy stock, bright white paper and were very clear and well illustrated. They took me through every part of the amulet bag. However, since the kit is rated at an intermediate level, it does assume that you have basic wire-working skills for the earrings. (The earrings require simple turned loops at the ends of the headpins.)
Priced at $45.00, this kit is a great value for a fun project that can be created in just one weekend. I had so much fun putting it together, that I will be sure to purchase another kit from Buy the Kit the next time I need a treat for myself.
