Step Two - Remove the Rubber Straps and Pick your Beads

Placing Wire in the Anchor Button

Placing Wire in the Anchor Button

First take your pair of shoes and remove the straps by pushing them down through the holes in the soles a bit and cutting of the "plugs" at the ends with scissors or an x-acto knife. Keep the straps for use as a template later on.

Choose some seed and pony beads that look nice together to make the straps. Cut 2 one-yard pieces of wire. Thread one end of the wire up through a hole in one of the buttons then thread the other end through the hole next to the first. Pull the wire through evenly so that the button ends up in the middle of the wire. Now take the other piece of wire and thread it through the remaining 2 holes the same way.
