When you sit down to bead, try to have all the tools and supplies that you will need right there on your work surface. Keep scissors, extra needles, thread and pliers on the outside edges of your work area. You can line up your beads along the top of your beading surface or down one side, if that’s more comfortable. The idea is that you have everything right where you want when you need it so that you don’t have to jump up and run to another room when you need something.

Also take into account where you are setting up your work area. Working on a desk that has drawers with protruding handles or pulls may cause your thread to get caught as you work. Chairs with rollers on the bottom of them may also tangle long lengths of thread.
