Photographing Your Beadwork - Using a SLR or DSLR Camera
A single lens reflex (SLR) or digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera is a camera for professionals and serious amateurs. They have larger bodies than point and shoot cameras and have interchangeable lenses. A SLR or DSLR camera will allow the photographer to control all of the settings, adjust for how much light enters the camera, and how fast the shutter opens and closes.

Most SLR and DSLR cameras also offer the automatic settings of a point and shoot camera, while also allowing the photographer control over the settings for light and shutter speed. Many of the images you can get with a SLR or DSLR camera are not possible with a point and shoot.

If you are considering selling your beadwork online or submitting your work to juried shows and galleries, it makes sense to invest in the best possible camera that you can afford to get the best possible photographs of your work.
