This Garden Party Beaded Bracelet bead kit by Margo Field is so unlike any other beaded bracelets kit, because the central element is not a bead, but a shade of vintage sequin.The kits, designed in seven elegant color combinations, are designed in a manner that makes them both bold and dainty, soft and strong; not invisible, never overbearing. The secrets are the cube beads and the vintage sequins.
Using cube beads in the cuff, Margo created a sort of "garden wall" upon which grows a vine of beautiful, unearthly and ethereal flowers, unlike anything seen before. The movement of the loose vines, stems, and flowers against the solidity of the cuff adds to the illusion of an otherworldly flowering vine in bloom, waving gently in the breeze.
The cuff section of the bracelet is worked in a variation of Herringbone stitch, using the cube beads and accented by one shade of seed beads. The vines and flower stems are worked in a different color of seed bead, each flower is represented by a vintage sequin and is accented by a tiny picot of size 15/0 beads, in colors best suited to compliment, not compete with, the unusual shades of the vintage sequins.
But don't this of this bracelet as fragile because of the sequins. Being of vintage stock, these sequins are sturdy and hard to bend by hand. Even items as fleeting as sequins were once made to last a long time!
