You can use loop picots to embellish the edges of horizontal beaded netting.

  1. Start by picking up (or passing through) the bead that will become the base of the picot (1A in the chart above).
  2. Pick up of all of the beads for your picot (3C in the chart). Three beads are the most common.
  3. Finally, pass through the base bead again, and pull the thread gently taut.

Loop picots differ from turning picots: with the latter, you pass back through the base bead.

Tip: To keep loop picots from folding over, use gentle tension and avoid splitting the thread with your needle.
