Learn Beadwork - How to Zip Up Peyote Stitch and Brick Stitch

The thread path for zipping up peyote stitch or brick stitch.

Jennifer VanBenschoten
To begin zipping up beadwork, stitch through the next "up" bead on the opposite side of the beadwork. Stitch back and forth through each "up" bead, alternating sides.

Once you reach the other end of the beadwork, pass through the corresponding bead on the opposite side of the beadwork and stitch back. This will reinforce the thread path and strengthen the connection between the two sides.

You now have a tube of beadwork. It can be used for a beaded bead, a bail for a cabochon or pendant, or a toggle for a beaded clasp.
