How to Properly Use Crimping Pliers
Your finished crimp will be neat and secure. You may wish to use the flat tips of the crimping pliers to give the crimp one final, gentle squeeze to ensure that it is closed. At this point, you can also use a crimp cover to cover the crimp or just leave it as is.

Some Tips for Crimping:

  • Always make sure that you leave enough room so that the jump ring or clasp can move about freely in the loop. Don't pull it too tightly or you may actually damage the stringing wire.
  • Always use the appropriate sized crimps for the size bead stringing wire you have used. 2mm crimp tubes will work on most fine and medium weight stringing wire. 3mm crimps may be used on heavy beading wire. Only use micro crimps on the very fine stringing wire such as Soft Touch.
  • To further reduce strain on your beading wire, you can string a spacer bead or two between the crimp and the clasp before crimping.
  • If you want to cover up the exposed bead stringing wire and make sure that you have enough room for your clasp or jump ring to move around, try slipping on a piece of French bullion or French wire before threading the beading wire back into the crimp.
