How to Count Rows in Right Angle Weave

Counting rows in right angle weave can be difficult because of the way the beads lie in this stitch. The beads are stitched together in units consisting of four beads each, and each unit shares at least one bead with another unit on either the top, bottom or side.

To count your rows, count off the beads along one side of your beadwork. The bead that is numbered in the graphic shows the correct bead to count and shows the numbering of the rows.

Do not count beads on the interior of the beadwork. Because of the way the beads lie in this stitch, it is very easy to become confused and lose your place when trying to count rows.
