- Light pink pearl opaque size 11° seed beads
- Crystal luster translucent size 11° seed beads
- Pink silverlined size 11° seed beads
- 1 ponytail holder frame

- Pink or white suede
- Goop Glue
- Small beading loom
Note: In the diagram the light pink represents the light pink pearl beads and the dark pink represents the pink silverlined beads. A text version of this chart is also available.
Beginner Tips: Follow the instructions that came with your loom to set it up. Try beading a small design first to get familiar with weaving thread to hold bead rows in place. Use a toothpick to straighten rows that have angled off-center.
Directions: Follow the above diagram by counting the rows and using the crystal color as the background, alternating the other colors where shown. I used two colors of pink, but the center of the butterfly is done in opaque beads as well as the outline. After completing the beading, tie off the ends approximately 1/4 inch from the end. Tuck knots under and glue to felt. Try not to get glue on top of beadwork, it will not come off easily. Use glue sparingly. Once dry, after approximately 2 hours, stitch glued beadwork to a piece of suede about 1/16 of an inch larger than beadwork. Then glue and stitch to ponytail holder frame.
Variations:Try using other colors of blue and purple, but keep in mind that the background has to be light in order for your design to show up.
