A beading awl is a hand tool with a long, pointed metal tip. You can use it to place knots between beads in pearl and tin cup necklaces and bracelets. It is also helpful for teasing apart unwanted knots in beading thread (it is sturdier than a beading needle) and for ripping out beadwork when you make a mistake.
