What is a Tension Knot?

A tension knot is a half-hitch knot that you make within your beadwork for the purpose of preserving thread tension. It's a good idea to make one or more tension knots with your old thread before you begin a new thread. This helps to avoid gaps between beads or loose beadwork in places where you begin new thread.
