The Beader's Guide to Color by Margie Deeb

Margie Deeb
While most beaders have a pretty good concept of colors they prefer and the shades and tones they like to work with, there is always room for more color knowledge. Learning about color and its application in beadwork can make the difference between a nice piece of beading and a beaded masterpiece. Margie Deeb shows us how we can better understand color and make it work well in our projects.

Book by Margie Deeb

]Color theory can be a complex and somewhat confusing subject, even for dedicated art students. I have found that most books either over-simplify the study, thus leaving the reader even more confused, or it makes it so complex that you leave feeling as if you've just tried to read a technical manual on something you should know, but don't!

Margie Deeb, in her classic style, has managed to turn out a book that is not only incredibly informative in a smooth and easy to assimilate style, but she turns it into a work of art you'll want to look at for hours.

The book begins with the discussion of Color Theory and Design where we learn the Color Wheel basics and examine each color in depth. We then move to Theory Based Color Schemes, where we learn how to combine colors in our beading. We then explore emotional and symbolic color schemes, learning how to express feeling through beading and color use and are offered lovely bead projects to help us learn more. Finally, we are invited to delve into the world of beading and color in the Gallery that completes this book.

Priced at only $21.95, I highly recommend that you add this book to your beading library.
