These Bead Wrapped Rocks are a great first project if you've never thought about mixed media before. By adding the element of stone to your beadwork, you've just incorporated a "found object." Leave some part of the rock unbeaded if you wish, or connect several together with Peyote Stitch beaded strips, then display them dangling down the wall, stacked with the beaded strips looped around the stones, or laid out in a line or pattern along a bookcase shelf or tabletop. As a wedding favor, use white river stones and bead a strip with the wedding colors, or, if it's a small wedding, each guest's initial on the strip. Done right, in a tasteful manner, with a lovely stone and nice, tidy beading, this would make a delightful wedding favor to place on the reception tables.
