- 22” strand antique red Czech vertebrae trade beads
- (6) 1 ½” sterling silver eyepins
- (36) 3mm sterling silver round beads
- (16) 8mm sterling silver Bali-style beads
- Toggle clasp
- (2) 2mm sterling silver crimps
- (5) 1 1/2" sterling silver eyepins
- 26” of beading wire, .019” thickness
You will also need the following tools:
- Wire cutters
- Flat nose pliers
- Round nose pliers
- Crimping pliers
1. Make the coin dangles: open the loop on the bottom of the headpin and attach a coin.
2. On the headpin, string a 3mm sterling silver round bead and make a wrapped loop. Repeat for remaining 5 headpins and set aside.
3. Attach one end of the beading wire to the clasp using a crimp bead and crimping pliers. To do this, string on one 3mm silver round bead, a crimp, and another 3mm silver round bead. Pass the beading wire through the loop on the clasp and back through the 2 silver beads and the crimp. Pull snugly and crimp using crimping pliers.
4. String the necklace according to the following pattern:
- 25 Czech vertebrae beads
- 3mm silver round
- 8mm Bail-style bead
- 3mm silver round
- 20 Czech vertebrae beads
- 3mm silver round
- 8mm Bali-style bead
- 3mm silver round
- *15 Czech vertebrae beads
- 3mm silver round
- 8mm Bali-style bead
- 3mm silver round
- Coin dangle
- 3mm silver round
- 8mm Bali-style bead
- 3mm silver round
Repeat from * until you have used up all the coin dangles, ending with 15 Czech vertebrae beads.
Finish by stringing the following pattern:
- 3mm silver round
- 8mm Bali-style bead
- 3mm silver round
- 20 Czech vertebrae beads
- 3mm silver round
- 8mm Bali-style bead
- 3mm silver round
- 25 Czech vertebrae beads
- 3mm silver round
- Crimp bead
- 3mm silver round
5.Pass the beading wire through the other half of the clasp and back through the 3mm silver round bead, the crimp, the second 3mm silver round bead, and the 25 Czech vertebrae beads. Pull snugly and make sure that there are no gaps in the beads. Crimp using the crimping pliers and trim the ends of the beading wire.
