2. Getting Started

On a three foot piece of Fireline, pick up 1 10mm Swarovski round and 10 size 11 seed beads.  Pass through the Swarovski round again and pull snugly.

3. Pick Up Another Set of Seed Beads

Pick up 10 size 11 seed beads and pass through the Swarovski round again and pull snugly.  You will now have 20 size 11 seed beads around the round crystal with two gaps between the sets.

4. Close the Gaps

Pass needle and thread through the first set of 10 seed beads, and then the second set.  Pass back into the first set of seed beads and pull snugly.  The seed beads should form a snug circle around the round crystal.

5. Start the Netting

Pick up 5 size 11 seed beads.  Skip the last seed bead picked up and pass through the fourth seed bead.  Pick up 3 size 11 seed beads.

Skip three seed beads in the base round around the crystal.  Pass through the fourth seed bead and pull snugly.

6. Repeat Around the Crystal

Repeat around the crystal, adding a total of five netted points.

When adding the last netted point, skip the next three seed beads in the base round, and pass through the fourth seed bead.  Pass through the next three seed beads so that you are exiting the center seed bead of the first netted point.

7. Adding the Tiny Crystals to the Netted Points

Adding the 3mm crystals to the netted points will help to stiffen the points.

Pick up 1 silver lined size 15 bead, 1 crystal AB 3mm bicone and 1 silver lined size 15 bead.  Pass up through the two seed beads at the top of the point.  Pass back down through the grey luster seed beads, the size 15 bead, the 3mm crystal and the size 15 bead.

Pass through the grey luster seed bead in the base that you were exiting at the beginning of this step, but from the opposite direction.

Pass through seed beads in the base round until you are exiting the middle seed bead of the next netted point.

8. Repeat Around the Star

Continue around the star, adding 3mm crystals in each of the netted points.

9. Add a Hanging Loop

To add a hanging loop for the earring finding:

Pass through one side of a netted point until you are exiting the picot bead at the end.  Pick up 10 size 15 seed beads and pass through the picot bead again.  Pull snugly to form a loop.  Repeat the thread path once or twice more to secure.

Weave back down into the star, tying a few half hitch knots.  Trim thread close to the beadwork.

Weave in the tail thread, tying a few half hitch knots.  Trim thread close to the beadwork.

10. Add the Earring Finding

Using a flat nose or chain nose pliers, open the earring finding and slip the completed star onto the earring.  Close the loop.

11. Repeat for the Other Earring

Repeat these steps to complete the other earring.
