Adding the "garland" to the Christmas Tree

Jennifer VanBenschoten
To add the garland to the tree, pick up 8 or 9 size 13 Charlottes. (You may have to adjust the number of Charlottes depending on how tightly or loosely you have stitched the base.) Pass needle up through the stack of beads on opposite edge of the tree. Pick up 6 or 7 Charlottes. Again, you may need to adjust the number of beads that you pick up to get across the tree depending on how tightly or loosely you have stitched the base. Pass needle up through the stack of green cylinder beads on the opposite outside edge of the tree.

Pass needle and thread up through the Simplicity bead and the loop to reinforce again.

Weave back down into the tree to bury your thread. It is easier to do this from the back of the tree so that you won't get your thread tangled around the embellishment on the front of the tree.

Knot the thread, add a drop of glue if desired, and weave the thread in a little more. Trim thread close to the beadwork.
