Here's a set of three free beadweaving patterns designed for use in the 2012 Bead-It-Forward project sponsored by Bead&Button magazine. As you might guess, the theme of the 2012 project is birds; every square submitted to Bead&Button must reflect that theme.

All three patterns use size 11/0 cylinder beads (such as Delicas or Treasures), and each creates a 1.5-inch by 1.5-inch square of beadwork. This size complies with the Bead-It-Forward guidelines, and also makes the patterns useful for amulet bag panels or sections of cuff bracelets.
Rather than listing specific bead colors for these patterns, I used generalized color schemes. You can either match them using beads you have on hand, or switch them up to create more customized designs.
The peacock pattern on this page uses odd-count peyote stitch and eight bead colors. For a larger, printable version, please click on the pattern.
