Tila beads are flat, square glass beads manufactured by the Miyuki company in Japan. Unlike regular seed beads, Tilas have two parallel holes.

Here's a list of reputable online suppliers who carry Tilas in a variety of colors and finishes. If you'd like to suggest another supplier for the list, please contact me.

Please send an email to beadwork@aboutguide.com to report any broken links.

  • Bello Modo carries some lovely colors. (Be sure to sign up for their newsletter if you'd like to receive notices about their regular sales.)

  • Whimbeads.com carries a nice selection of colors and offers an assortable quantity discount.

  • Artbeads.com also has a nice selection, although quite a few were out of stock when I compiled this list. Artbeads is an American company with reasonable worldwide shipping rates.

  • Caravan Beads has an enormous selection of Tilas. You may want to check here first if you're looking for harder to find colors.

  • Beadaholique carries some popular colors.

  • Cranberry is an Australian supplier that carries Tilas and many other interesting beads. This supplier has been recommended by Australian beaders in our forum.

  • GJ Beads in the UK carries quite a few Tilas.

Tip: Tila beads are not inexpensive. I encourage you to shop around for the best prices, and keep an eye out for sales. Follow About.com Beadwork on Facebook for sale alerts from the suppliers I use most often.
