Versatile Venetian Glass Beads

You'll find many uses for these stunning glass beads

Are you familiar with the shimmer and subtle beauty of Venetian glass beads? They are so versatile - glass beads that are available in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colors, finishes, foils and textures. These gorgeous glass beads give instant "added value" to any beaded jewelrypiece which incorporates them.

The Venetian Glass beads from Gems 2 Behold never fail to impress beaders everywhere; both for their stunning beauty and their peerless workmanship.

In many cases, Venetian Glass Beads can be used as focal beads or grouped with other beautiful beads to create a beautiful beaded necklace or bracelet. Using the other products on the Gems to Behold website, such as their freshwater pearls, the elegant clasps and a selection of other beads and Swarovski crystals, you can create many fabulous beaded jewelry items.

The necklace at left, called "Night on the Tiles" was designed using the square shaped Venetian Bead, 10 mm size in Charcoal with a gold foil lining. I included sterling silver bead caps and pearls (the larger ones) from my collection along with some stunning smaller black pearls from Gems 2 Behold to set off the color and to help define the difference in the shapes of the beads and the pearls At right is the matching bracelet.

After that, I needed to make some "stand alone" earrings, shown below at left.

These fun dangles use the triangle glass bead and some furnace glass tubes in a coordinating color. Making separate links for the two main beads adds movement and shows off the shimmer of the lined triangle to it's best advantage.

The beaded necklace at right includes one of the incredible lampwork beads by Corina Tettinger, this one called "Flowers in Brandy". The Venetain Glass triangle beads seemed to "point out" the focal lampwork bead and the Venetain Glass round beads just set off the colors of the lampwork perfectly. The matching earrings use coordinating Swarovski crystals and more round Venetain Glass Beads.

The bracelet below at left is so sparkly and eye catching - it would sell well if it were in a design line. It uses the triangle beads as well as the Venetain Glass cube beads that send off unlimited sparkle. The vintage Swarovski clear spacers and blue bicone beads are from Jewelex.com. This beaded jewelry set would look so elegant with a simple black dress.

These little Butterflies (shown at right) sit quietly beside the ear, just lighting up the wearer's whole aura! Notice how the the color of the Venetain Glass Beads match the Swarovski crystals perfectly – but they may look better if done as four individual links rather than as a single piece on a headpin. After all, a butterfly is all about movement, isn't it?

This last piece, below at left, was made a long time ago, but still gets the compliments every time it's worn. It includes the basic Round Venetian Glass Beads with a white gold foil center encased in clear glass, strung with faceted sterling silver beads and faceted silver lined firepolish beads. Simplicity at its finest!

And this is only the tip of the Venetain Bead iceberg. There are so many shapes and sizes - you'll just have to go feast your eyes on more of these lovely Venetian Glass Beads.
