Hello, my name is Suzanne and I am a beadaholic! I am consumed by the need to own every bead in the world and every bead book published! My waking moments are filled with thoughts of beads and I dream of them at night! Sound familiar???

I became addicted to beading about six years ago. My husband and I were in Santa Fe and I saw some wonderful amulet purses for sale. I immediately thought about doing one..... just one.... with the design from the cover of one of my stained glass books. I visited a bead store and fell totally in love with beads! My story sounds like that of every beader I have ever met! Beads are simply the most addictive things in the world. They first thrill our eyes with their beauty. They challenge our minds learning various techniques. They awaken our tactile sense with their feel. They link us with people all over the world and through the ages. One of my favorite quotes is from a book by Mary White called "How to Do Beadwork" which was first published in 1902. I felt a real sense of kinship with beaders from the past when I read this.

"Women come naturally by their love for beads. They inherit it from their 'great-great-twenty-seven-times-great-grandmother' -- as the fairy tale says."

I am married to my best friend and have been for about a bezillion years! Jim and I have five grandchildren courtesy of our two daughters and their husbands. We live in the hill country about 25 miles north of San Antonio. We are allowed to share our home with the real owners, "Oreo the Studio Cat", "Misha the Repulsive Pomeranian" and "Red the Fat Black Lab." We recently purchased a tiny adobe house near the plaza in Santa Fe and try to get there at least once a month. I do so love Santa Fe for it's beauty and because it feeds my creative spirit. So far the animals have not found out about the new house. Shhhhhh, don't tell them!

My other addictions are chocolate, travel, theater, my Mac computers and the internet! It is such fun communicating with beaders all over the world. We share ideas, sources, techniques, joys, sorrows and many, many laughs. Beaders are the most sharing and loving people I have ever met. I often wonder if working with beads makes us this way or do we gravitate to beads because we are so sharing and loving. I had best go get a cup of coffee and some chocolate while I ponder this!

Suzanne has also offered us a delightful pattern, a very beautiful bracelet called Winter Steeples. Suzanne says "Bead the top pattern until you reach the red line. Switch to the bottom pattern and continue beading at the red line". Don't forget to take a look at reviews of all five of Suzanne's wonderful beadwork books and get ordering information, too!
