Welcome to Spotlight Artist.
This week, our featured artist is Rita Sova, the genius behind Bead-Patterns.com. Rita is a wonderful designer herself, and has opened up a something completely new and exciting for the 21st century beader.
Let me turn this over to Rita for a little background. Take it away, Rita!
I remember beading as a child, along with many other crafts my mother and grandmother taught us. I also remember that the finished pieces were lacking-messy clasps and the plastic beads did not hold their GLITZ. As a teenager, I tried beading and still had the same frustrations, so I dabbled in many other crafts. One more time in the 1980's I was re-introduced to beading and it GOT me; hook, line, and finished item. Thanks to Deon DeLange, Suzanne Cooper and Frieda Bates. Beading and designing are my meditation-relaxation. Many times I hear from my family members; "I think you should go bead now". I LOVE IT..... I have also enjoyed 5 or so years of teaching the art of beading. I learned so much and made wonderful friends.
Does life get any better?
The African Gray has been in my mind for years - a friend of mine has a real one and he is so cute - I think he loves Dr. Pepper as much I do. His name is Pepper.
