Another in Wendy's collection of beadwork books, the Techniques for Beadlovers series, this book is about beaded amulet bags.
In this volume, we get a great overview of seedbeads and excellent instructions for Flat, Circular, Freeform and Double (two-drop) Peyote. All the bags in this book are done in one of these Peyote variations. Wendy also covers some really good tips, such as cord types and strap alternatives, as well as backings and fabrics that can be used in making these terrific little bags.
The patterns vary widely, and are outside the usual Peyote graph type of Amulet. The instructions are clear and concise, with excellent drawings done by Wendy. This is a very easy to follow book, which would be excellent for a beginner looking to get started, or an old hand, looking for new inspiration. Look for the Easy Leather Gecko Bag, the Chinese Finger Woven Bag and the Beadloom Medicine Bag, as well as many others!
