| Our very first lampwork entry ever comes from Elaine Popelka of Montana Beadworks.

This little Merlin bead just captured my heart. More beads from Elaine are coming soon, as soon as I can figure out how to scan them well enough to do them justice. (4k)

| Wendy Gobin of Marysville, Washington sent this next piece. |
 | This picture is of a hummingbird that you may all have seen before.
It is made with size 22 beads,
sterling silver,
2mm austrian crystal,
and a sterling hummingbird hook. (14k)

| These two pieces came from Michelle Heiss. |

This piece I made for my Mom-in-Law Marolyn.
The cameo I bought in one piece at Michael's.
The fringe is just the ladder row of the earrings from the Delange books. I just left off the top and then glued everything to the back.
I am sure I am not the first to think of embellishing with beads. I purchased the cameo at a thrift store. It was on a lace hair bow. And the cream beads I lucked into finding at another thrift shop. I made an initial row of beads big enough to frame the face. I guess it is basically a Spanish Lace stitch until it is the desired size. I then had to coat the lace part of the frame with clear nail polish to prevent curl. The fringe is from Virginia Blakelock's book "Those Bad Bad Beads" Page 50 looped fringe.

| This entry comes from Drucilla Henderson. |

This is a smoked quartz crystal point I got in Hot Springs
Arkansas. I used hematite and quartz chips in the strap, as well as
agate, and turquoise and garnet chips in the body and fringe. The base
of the body started out as a big boo-boo that, as I hate tearing out
work, I simply incorporated into my design. I do that a lot, and as I
frequently do beadwork the way I cook, making it up as I go along, it
seems to work out well.

| Our next entry comes from Kristi Daniel of Hebrew Alphabet fame. |
 | It's an adaptation from a design in
Michael White Owl's book Flat Peyote Stitch. It's done in matte black
and 22k gold DB. It's a pendant that is attached to an adjustable
leather cord ( not shown).
