Our first entry on this page was forwarded by Rosalie Harrison on behalf of her daughter Shannon.
With the weather getting cooler Shannon decided she wanted to do something for Fall so I looked through all of my patterns I saved and she decided on doing your pumpkins, she doesn't like orange so she did them in more of a golden color. The strap is done by making small free standing peyote beads and a friend of ours gave her some nice wood beads that she put between them, the other side of the bag is leaves by Tracy Whittney, I think they compliment each other well.

This beaded bracelet was sent in by Blue.
Here is a picture of my very first beaded project. It is a bracelet with no clasp, but is large enough to fit over my hand like a bangle. It is kind of folded and bent on the scanner bed. Anyway, most of you are probably thinking: those bugle beads are going to slice right through that thread! And yes, they have, shortly after I scanned the piece. Any suggestions? Also, you can see that my peyote is a little warped on the grey sections...this happened while I was working the single strands into the main piece. I'm thinking that using a smaller size thread for this part (or for fringes on other pieces) may be helpful. Any other ideas?

Sealife:
Prior to beginning one of my prized bags, I will often spend days studying the world around me, and tuning to mother nature. My beautiful garden at my Southern California home is a strong influence on the choice of vivid colors and lively designs I use for each piece. Being close to the beach only 2 miles away, I spend time walking along the shore gathering shells and visualizing the designs I can draw from them.

This set of pieces were sent in by bead knitter Cindy Hulsey.
These are all bead knitted bags. Knitted with cotton thread and size 11 seed beads. The first one is a coin purse with a 2 1/2" frame (clasp) and a silver chain with a silk lining. The second is a Pendant Bag, worn as a necklace. I don't put anything in them, it ruins the "feel". The third is also a Pendant bag but with a flap. The fourth is a "Finger Purse". It is big enough to hold your driver's license, credit card and lipstick. It is knitted with silk thread and has a most luxuious feel. My favorite thread to knit with is silk. This bag is done with black silk thread and a mix of purple/greens/blue metalic size 11 seed beads.

This beaded pouch was sent to us by Ann Brodrick of A&B Art Glass and Beadwork.
Ann sent me this beautiful pouch as a gift recently. I love it! Every time I wear it I get a ton of compliments. The bag is done in two-drop peyote stitch. The seed beads are transluscent brown with a matte AB finish. The bag is accented with clear teardrops with a rootbeer mirror finish.
