| This version of the Favorite Necklace Bead Pattern and a beaded Amulet Bag were created by Holly Wright. |
|
The first piece is my version of the Favorite Necklace, done with iris gold seed
beads and 6mm amethyst rounds, all from Fire Mountain Gems. The scan
wasn't so great, so just to elaborate, the iris gold
is a medium brown-olive color.
|
|
The second piece is my second ever amulet bag, and the first of original
design. I got the idea from a beadwork book I own in which the author was
offering words of
encouragement; such as not to cry too much when your thread gets tangled,
hang in there, etc.
So I started thinking about how many times I've pricked my finger with
needles, cried aloud about
tangled thread, & actually perspired under my 100 watt light bulb. Hence,
my amulet bag: Blood
Sweat and Tears. There are a couple of things I would like to do
differently next time: I wasn't very good at hiding knots this early on, &
I would like to do a little more interesting fringe.

| This Business Card Holder was beaded by Chris Phillips.
|
|
This is a business card holder in 2-drop Gourd Stitch. The repetitive pattern and 2-drop style makes it quick and easy to make if you are a new beader and playing with
color combinations can make it more challenging for the accomplished beader.
|
| This card case was sent in by Bobbi Kirk. |
|
I saw the business card case in your weekly picks and thought I'd share one
I made
if you have room for it in the gallery.
It's done in RAW with semi-matt, silver-lined grey seed beads with red
accent and
monogram. It's quick and the RAW makes such a wonderfully slinky-feeling
beaded
fabric.
The KW stands for my company KirkWorks that I market all my beadwork under.

| This beaded wand was created by Pat Savu. |
|
I've attached two pictures of this magic wand that I made for our local (Upper
Midewest Bead society) contest. Mine was a wand for a bad fairy like the one
in Sleeping Beauty (Mallificient). The piece was made with 11/0 seed beads
flat in square stitch before assembly of three of the flat pieces and then the
last side was added in place to close the throat in brick stitch.
