Our first piece this week was sent in by Judi Wood.
I am a full-time artist and bead weaver (off-loom) and I sometimes get to teach. I had an article published in Bead & Button in Oct. 1998 "Quilts to Earrings" I was also selected for the Beadwork UPClose competition. I was invited to show my work on TV in New York on the cable station for Westchester NY. I love what I do not only as my profession but as a way to calm me whenever I get stressed and need to relax. This piece was sent in by Lynn Smythe of Dolphin Crafts.
Tatanka: 2 gemstone cabochons surrounded by tubular peyote stitch, peyote ruffles and netting using size 15/o seed beads and delicas. There is no backing used so you can see the back of the stones when you turn the piece over. The top cabochon is further embellished with fiber optic heart beads, Swarovski crystal and misc. glass beads. The necklstrap is a spiral rope chain using delicas, teardrops and misc. glass beads. (29k)

Bracelet: Scultural peyote stitch bracelet using everything but the kitchen sink!! Size 15/o, 11/o, 8/o, 6/o seed beads, buttons, Swarovski crystals, teardrops, copper charms, and a Sarah Creekmore cabochon. (41k)
This next set of pieces was sent in by Pinjinsa.
Pinjinsa sent in so much beautiful work that I created a sub-page just for her. Click on the thumbnail to see 6 gorgeous pieces.

This entry came from MarLin Beads.
This piece is called Rings of Saturn. The individual niobium rings were covered with size 15 beads, surface embellished and then stacked on a peyote core using a series of increases and decreases to create a shelf for each ring. The rings by themselves are great fun and have many uses. I often make a few rings of coordinating colors and hang them on a spiral chain. (28k)

This entry came from Michele Lee.
Hi this is my "Irish Spring Choker" inspired from the book Indian Bead-Weaving Patterns by Horace Goodhue. It looks really pretty on! (22k)

This entry came from Paula Cloke.
Peyote gourd rattles aprox. 20 inches long. Gourds, horsehair, size 10 and 11 beads, buckskin dyed braided cotton string and jingles. (11k)
