Our first entry on this page comes from Shala Kerrigan

Shala has been in California for the past week or so and when I went up to visit her she gave me this bag as a gift. Are you jealous or what?? lol I love it! (51k)

The Star amulet bag just happened after I visited Hillsinger's site and finally got the increases right on my circular mandalas. I did not chart it, just worked as I felt like it. It is reversible and back side has the same star in grays and blues. But the side you see has my favorite chartreuse AB and purple silverlined beads. The fringe took the longest to get right. I liked the bag enough that I took the fringe out many times till I got it right. The strap is another gift from the Hillsinger site, the Spiral Rope Chain. Thank you Anne Hawley. (51k)

The triangle was hand colored with pencils on brick stitch paper. I love geometric design and interwoven lines. I made up several variations (use erasable coloring pencils if you use this method) and beaded them all. One was for the man who painted my house. He loved it so much, he commissioned me to make one for him in his favorite shades of blue. Father of three grown sons, a man in his late fifties--you never know what beaded ornaments men will want to wear, do you? (34k)

Well....I finally did it! Got a scan of the bag I made from your Witch Flying Past the Moon pattern . I have a friend who dresses as a witch every year for Halloween and each year she adds 'ONE' thing to her costume. She saw the pattern on my table and *had* to have it! =) It is done in 14's (my passion), and she picked out all the charms and goodies in the fringe. This is not the finished picture, however, after this picture was taken she decided she wanted more black in the fringe to make it a little fuller, so I put a row of black twisted fringe off the back. Read all about this amazing beaded embroidery 3-dimensional lamb and check out some additional photos of it in Debra's gallery. (40k)

This is Annie Scarborough's "Holiday Mood Amulet Bag" from her pattern. The bag is done in 14's, the light-bulb fringe (done in 11's) is a variation of the seaweed fringe from "Seahorse Love", and the strap is my favorite "quickie" technique, strung on flex wire with Czech fire-polished beads in colors to match the "light bulbs". Even more fun to wear than it was to make! (39k)

I took the Blackgiraffe free needlecase design and used the central motif (a maple leaf) to bead a pair of earrings from a larger sized bead. They came out really nice. I thought you would like to see them. (26k)

I'm attaching a scan of a finished amulet bag I designed based on an old bargello quilt pattern I did years ago. I changed the colors so that it can be appropriate any time of the year. It looked terrific on a teal sweater for our office Christmas party. Also, since quilts are more like "square" stitch, after I charted the quilt pattern using Bead Pattern Designer, I changed the type to "Peyote" stitch. Actually, it looks good in both square and peyote stitchs. Mark Ramsey has put the pattern on "Beadville" as a free pattern. (26k)
