I finished these designs from patterns that you featured in weeks/months past and thought that I would show you how I finished them! The seahorse turned out really cute with the ruffles (pretend coral) and the seahorse charms on it. The whale is my favorite (even though I messed up the swirls in the background. (36k)(46k)

It is an amulet purse made out of czech seed beads in a hematite colour. It has a piece of malachite peyoted around in the centre and small pieces of green aventurine highlighting the strap and fringe. It is one of my first attempts at a purse without a pattern. I had bought the seed beads ages ago and didn't know what to do with them until I saw that piece of malachite in a gem shop - and then I knew exactly what I wanted to do:) (22k)

I call it Ba Released. I thought it up after seeing Egyptian tomb paintings of the Ba and reading about it in the book " The Complete Pyramids". The Ba is the part of the soul that the Egyptians believed contained the personality. Along with the Ka (life force) and the physical body , it was part of a whole human being. The three parts became separated at death. The Ba was pictured as a human headed bird often perched on the coffin. This Ba is human to at least the waist. She is made of 11/0 seed beads and is three-dimensional. Some parts like the nose have three layers of beads square stitched together. The back of the amulet pouch is also attached and has a mother of pearl cylinder used a a barrette for her hair as a fastener to keep it closed. (40k)
