Our first two items on this page come from Kat Allison AKA "Kayson".

The pectoral necklace is about 8"x5". The body is mostly needlewoven
cotton, but also includes some surface embroidery. The stones are woven into
the work on the warp threads. Stones are agates, amber, smoke quartz, flower
jasper. There are also copper beads and some bronze-green seeds woven into
the work. The fringe is more of the bronze seeds and copper spirals and
heishi. The neckpiece is three strands: copper spiral chain and findings,
needleweaving and macrame' with silk twist and stones. The leaves are copper
and stones. I did all the metal work by hand.

Kayson sent me these pendants that she made out of 400 year old brick that she found in the river. The largest one has a shrink plastic disk set into it and a peyote wrap around the top. The long skinny one is wrapped in copper wire with mother of pearl chips. The short squat triangle is inset with blue cloth that has been embellished with green, pink, and blue seed beads, embroidery thread, and peridot chips. The taller triangle has a triangle of square stitched Delicas set into it embellished with malachite ? (I'm guessing here) chips and a handmade copper spiral finding. Are they cool or what? Very unique.

Besides this gorgeous barrette, you will also get to peek at Theresa's 3D chili necklace that was featured in Jewelry Crafts magazine and an applique rosette necklace from one of her teaching kits.

To continue the cat theme (started with the Tigers) this is my first attempt at designing a Leopard bag. I'm not quite happy with it yet, and just started over, using the Stitch Painter beading software that I purchased at Embellishment. It sure is a lot more fun than Corel Draw! Everyone seems to like the back at least as much as the front. I hope to start beading the "new and improved" version soon.

These two sculptural peyote bracelets were made following the suggestions
and directions in Jeannette Cook's "A Sculptural Peyote Projects Primer".
The African Helix matte gold and silver necklace was made using the
instructions given in Carol Wilcox Wells' book "Creative Bead Weaving".
The "Village Purse" was made in brick stitch following Barbara Elbe's
pattern in "Back to Beadin'". My parents recently relocated to a small
town in the Mt Shasta area of California and I made this for my mother in
honor of her new home. The Lemon Bag was a "Limited Edition Kit" from
Suzanne Cooper. It was constructed in peyote stitch using her wonderful
lemons as fringe and in the earrings.

The lamp bead in this necklace was made by Barbara Edgecomb of Persona beads.
I saw it on her web page last fall and I thought: now I know what to do with
those red Czech flowers I've been saving. I strung the lamp bead on a piece of
satin cord and did spiral brick stitch all the way along the cord with 11/0 seed
beads to look like a twining vine on a grey background. I them added the small
red flowers and small glass leaves on the ends of kinky fringe stems. I love
lamp beads, but they are so heavy that often it is difficult to incorporate them
into seed bead pieces. Stringing on the satin cord and covering it with beads
solved this problem.

The Kitty Cab come from Beadragon. The strap is a conservative free form
peyote and I beaded around the cab plus blanket stiched it. Most of the
beads are a carnival glass like seed bead with different accent beads.
