"When I was 8 years old , I designed my first dress. My mother sewed it and my 4th grade teacher raved about it. I continued designing and as an adult began a business designing and manufacturing clothing. I continued my love of designing with bead knitting years ago when I took a bead knitted amulet bag class. One bag was to be completed by the end of the 3 consecutive Saturday morning classes and by the end I had already started my third bag. I quickly went on to bead knit many, many more amulet bags. I was soon creating designs of my own and loving every minute of it.
As I was bead knitting one day and wishing for a beautiful purse frame on which to attach my purse, I remembered an antique mesh purse given to me by my mother when I was a child. The purse frame is high relief Art Noveau with a lady, birds and flowers. I couldn't wait to have it cast. That became the first in my series of reproduction antique purse frames. I now call that purse frame "Lady Delight." My first design for that purse frame I named after my mother, Helen.
I am now in the process of completing my first book titled: "Delightful Bead Knitted Bags, Your Timeless Art." The focus of the book is to bring Bead Knitted Bags into the 21st century. The book features 3 of my designs, color pictures, complete instructions and other interesting delights for bead knitters.
I now have 9 reproduction heirloom quality purse frames and 13 unique bead knitted bag designs and counting.
I cannot imagine my life without my passion for bead knitting.
