Charlene Hughes AKA BeadyBoop AKA Charley
Call me what you will, just don't call me late to the bead table.
I became a bead addict 8 years ago.
Wandering around my local hobby store I picked up a copy of Deon DeLang's brick stitched earrings....200 or so earrings later I decided that maybe I needed to expand my stitch knowledge. With the help of Bead & Button magazine I managed to teach myself Peyote stitch. I'm still practicing it and when I get it "right" will move on to something else........Just kidding although it is my favorite stitch because of the design possibilities.
Having doodled around in every art form/craft known to man, never feeling like I was doing really original work, to my delight designing graphs for these little bits of glass just "happened" naturally. At_____ years of age, and the grandmother of 4 it's very exciting and gratifying to have finally found my niche.
In all honesty though the purchase of a computer 4 years ago and discovering the internet opened up a whole new world for me. Id be remiss if I didn't credit all the wonderful, kind, sharing people I've met here. The positive feedback and support I've received from the folks here has made me believe that us "old dogs" can learn new tricks.
Married my high school sweetheart Wayne 40 years ago this November. We live in Northern California where we enjoy the ocean and the giant Redwood forests.
Foolishly thinking that we were going to slow down a bit and let the weeds grow up around us we now find ourselves raising 2 of our granddaughters. Rusty "the worlds most spoiled Yorkshire Terrier", BettyBoop & Precious "pedigreed pound cats" allow us all to share a home with them.
I hope you enjoy this pattern. It's "part" of a larger graph from my next book
(Beadin' with BeadyBoop Vol 2) and I thought I'd treat all my cyber friends to a preview.
Happy Beading,
Charley
