| " The Artist's Way" Workshop | |
The Artist's Way Workshop fro Beaders is based on the popular book The Artist's Way A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity by by Julie. The original book and workshop were written with writers in mind, it applies to all forms of creativity and can help unblock and nuture the creativity we all possess.
This will be a 12 week course and an outline and lessons will be delivered to your e-mail in-box each week. You will find a particular emphasis on creative growth as it applied to us as beaders, designers, bead artists and bead hobbyists who would like to become more comfortable and artists and creative people. Workshop participants are strongly encouraged to have a copy of Ms. Cameron's this book available during the course of this workshop. You do not need to have read the entire book before we begin, as we will be covering all of its content during the weekly sessions.
There is no charge, cost or fee for the Workshop; the entire Workshop is completely free of charge to users. All you need is a valid e-mail address to sign up for the course.
The book The Artist's Way consists of 12 chapters, with exercises and tasks to be completed
over the course of the week. These Chapters contain text, a set of 10 exercises pertinent to that particular week's focus, a weekly "Artist's
Date" of one hour (you will spend this time by yourself working on various creative processes) and a short review of the week. In addition, the
book calls for 3 pages of "stream of consciousness" free association writing to be completed every morning during the course of the
Workshop, with strong encouragement to adopt this as a regular part of your life. You will need approximately 30 minutes per day for the "morning
pages" as they are called, one hour per week for the "Artist's Date" and approximately one additional hour per week (some people may
require more) to complete the tasks and exercises.
If you do not have the book, please be sure to get a copy and read the information up to Week 1 (called "The Basic Principals" and
"The Basic Tools") and do your "creativity contract" if you desire. Then, you will be ready to begin the weekly workshop.
