A Luxury, Intimate Experience All the Way

The Beadwork Retreat in Sonoma Wine Country – A Luxury, Intimate Experience All the Way!

If you haven’t made plans to attend The Beadwork Retreat in Sonoma, Calif., August 17-19, registration is still open and spots are still available. The Beadwork Retreat is a series of three-day workshops sponsored by Beadwork magazine to soothe your frazzled nerves while sparking the creative spirit. “This retreat will be a luxury experience all the way,” said Marlene Blessing, editor of Beadwork. “Not only will people be at a great Wine Country hotel, but they’ll be hanging out with passionate beaders and some of the best bead instructors in the country!”

Beadwork Retreat goers can choose from a variety of daytime classes in specialized techniques such as wire work, bead embroidery, off-loom weaving, peyote, bead knitting, and bead crochet. Classes are broken down into an intensive two-day workshop and an additional one-day workshop with the teachers of your choice. Teachers include Jean Campbell, founding editor of Beadwork magazine, The Queen of Color Margie Deeb, author of The Beader’s Guide to Color, The King of Wire Mark Lareau, author of All Wired Up, and Bead Diva Diane Fitzgerald, author of eight books about beading.

“The Beadwork retreats are more intimate than others. The classes are smaller, so you get to know other people and your teachers better…I love that it’s a very social event,” said Cheri Zeller from Loveland, Colo., who has attended Beadwork retreats in Tahoe, Calif. and Estes Park, Colo.

The Beadwork Retreat is a perfect mini-vacation for beaders looking for a quick escape to bead and enjoy all that Wine Country has to offer. Evenings are for visiting Sonoma and all your surroundings. When retreat goers are not crafting, they can enjoy bike rides, wine trains, winery tours, spa treatments, golf, shopping, dining, relaxing and more.

Over the next six weeks Beadwork.About.com will profile some of the top instructors and bead designers who will be teaching at the Retreat, and offer a GIVEAWAY each week of copies of the instructors’ books. Stay tuned to learn more about Arlene Baker, Robin Atkins, Margie Deeb, Margo Field, Diane Fitzgerald and the other activities happening during the retreat
