I really enjoy these "Special Issue" editions of Bead & Button magazine
Filled with great projects for beginner and intermediate level beaders, this is an excellent publication for a new beader. Rather than a regular issue of the magazine, which has patterns and projects for all beading levels, these specials offer nothing but projects (40 in this one) for cool basic jewelry designs.
Best of all, these projects will give a newcomer a feel for several different techniques. Making the "Half-Round Roman Ring" will introduce wire work. The "Zigzag Floral Necklace" will start you on Daisy chains (excellent for beginners) and the "Winged Brooch" teaches the basics of bead embroidery.
Most of the projects listed will work up in a very short time and would make excellent Holiday gifts. I also think it would make a nice addition to a gift basket for a new beader - along with some thread, head pins, a pair of pliers lots of beads of al sizes and a few other "necessities". Chic & Easy is on news stands now, and will be available for a short time.
