Free Bead Pattern for these Summery Beaded Earrings

What You'll Need:

• 22 Metallic Purple Iris Seed Beads
• 8 Metallic Green Iris Daggers
• 2 5mm Metallic Green Iris Beveled Cubes
• 6 metallic Green Iris Nibblettes (flat rectangles)
• Either 4 Size 3.3mm Delicas or Size 6/0 Pony Beads in Metallic Green Iris
• Gold Colored 28 Gauge Beading Wire
• Jewelry Pliers (Optional)

NOTE: You will have much better results if as you progress through each step you make sure that the wire is pulled snug before you continue. Pliers make doing this correctly easier.

Begin with one yard of wire. Take one seed bead and slide it to the middle of the wire. Hold the seed bead so that the hole runs horizontally from side to side, fold the wire in half and pinch it together above the seed bead. Now thread 3 nibblettes on both wire ends at once so that they come to rest above the seed bead.



Now take one pony bead and slide it on to the right hand strand of wire. Bend the wire and bead over to the left so that the pony bead lies horizontally across the top of the uppermost nibblette. Now take the left hand strand of wire and thread it through the pony bead from left to right.

Thread a dagger bead onto the strand of wire that is now on the right and pass the wire from right to left through the pony bead then bend it up out of the way.

Take the left hand strand of wire and pick up a dagger bead. Now pass the wire through the pony bead from left to right.

Now repeat the instructions in the previous 3 paragraphs to add another pony bead and another set of wings.



Now pinch both strands of wire together above the second pony bead. Take a cube bead and thread it onto both strands of wire at once.



Separate the two strands of wire and thread 5 seed beads on each. Take the left hand strand and thread it down through the beads on the right hand strand and the cube bead, then take the right hand strand and thread it down through the beads on the left hand strand and the cube bead. Now twist each strand of wire around the wire between the cube bead and the top pony bead several times neatly and then clip off any excess. Shape the top loop by sticking the end of your pliers through the loop and opening them. Then arrange the wings if needed and you are done. :-)
