The Next Bead Dreams Competition Is Now Accepting Entries

By , About.com Guide   January 11, 2012

Entries are being accepted for the 2012 Bead Dreams design competition held by Bead & Button magazine. Bead Dreams is a well known, juried event where skilled beaders and jewelry makers from around the world vie for top spots in nine design categories. Winners are announced during an awards ceremony at the annual Bead & Button Show.

The Bead Dreams competition attracts many professional artists and beading experts, as you'll gather by browsing through the galleries of past winners. (Designs that blow me away include Medusa by Melissa Grakowsky, Kibou 3d by Yuka Matsushita, and Ocean Royal by Maiko Felton, to name just a few.)

But even if you're a beginner, Bead Dreams can be an invaluable source of inspiration. It's one of the relatively rare opportunities to see examples of just how far you can go with your beadwork.

Stay tuned to About.com Beadwork for an upcoming look at this year's winners. And if you're competing this year, best of luck!

  • The deadline for submitting your entry to 2012 Beads Dreams is March 6.

Boy, thanks for the reminder! I think I need to bite the bullet and get some more professional photos taken of my work so I can actually enter this year. Good luck to everyone!
